Showcasing Students’ Rising Up

The Rise Up program at Newman Senior High School is designed to promote individual student achievement by encouraging participation in a wide range of activities, while also strengthening positive reinforcement and fostering community connections.

During the recent school Open Night, the program was proudly showcased to the community. Families were welcomed into the dedicated Rise Up space, where they could see first-hand how students set personal goals, participate in activities, and earn rewards for their achievements.

In 2025, the program has continued to grow, with a steady increase in student engagement and participation, highlighting its positive impact across the school community. Students achieve individual points, with some progressing beyond the program ‘Tiers of Opportunity’ leading to more students receiving more regular recognition.

Break times are the time for Rise Up activities with student favourites including Hidden Prizes, Music, Sports, Brain Teasers, Escape Rooms, Quizzes, Table Tennis, Bingo and Craft. Recent student feedback about Rise Up included“Welcoming. Everyone is welcome to come”.
