Real World Learning for Students

The BHP Pilbara Education Partnership Success Program is preparing Hedland Senior High School students for future careers through industry training, workplace experience, and practical skills that build confidence and employment readiness.

The Success Program at Hedland Senior High School, supported by the BHP Pilbara Education Partnership, continues to offer students real world learning opportunities.

Students in the ‘Working for Success’ class are building strong career pathways through targeted training and hands-on workplace experience. Students have recently completed their White Card course, a key credential for many work sites, while also gaining valuable safety knowledge relevant for the workplace.

Participation in industry placements and training programs is enabling students to develop practical skills, gain exposure to real workplace expectations, and establish professional relationships within the Pilbara community.

These experiences are increasing students’ confidence and providing networking opportunities and practical skills that are highly valued by employers in the Pilbara region, directly improving students’ readiness for employment, further training, and future careers.
