Supporting Families Through Local Connections

The BHP Pilbara Education Partnership Early Years Strategy is helping families in Port and South Hedland access vital developmental and health services. Recent sessions with WACHS clinicians gave parents practical guidance, answered their questions, and boosted confidence in supporting their child’s health and wellbeing.

The BHP Pilbara Education Partnership Early Years Strategy seeks to increase parent and caregiver awareness of developmental services available to their children and increase the participation of those services.

Through the Early Years Strategy, families accessing Early Learning Programs across Port Hedland and South Hedland recently connected with Western Australia Country Health Services (WACHS) clinicians to learn about local health supports.

The sessions provided families with practical information, the chance to ask questions, and confidence to seek support if they have concerns about their child’s health, development, or wellbeing.

This valuable partnership supports positive outcomes for children by helping families feel informed, supported, and connected to services in their community.
