Students Guide Rise Up program

Responding to student input, the program introduced recess and lunch clubs, offering activities like basketball, book club, and sewing, to enhance belonging, foster new skills, and build friendships.

Student voice is a key aspect of the Rise Up program at Newman Senior High School.

The School has responded to student suggestions by implementing recess and lunch clubs to enhance student sense of belonging at school. Students can select clubs to attend based on their interests; these include basketball, book club, soccer, outdoor games, indoor games and sewing. The clubs are a positive incentive and provide students with an opportunity to learn new skills, form new friendships in an informal environment and take a well-earned break from their academic endeavours.
