The Partnership recently supported Year 9 student, Rain Raharuhi, to attend the ‘Young Originals’ art exhibition as a state finalist. The annual Young Originals exhibition promotes excellence in the visual arts across a range of mediums and celebrates visual arts, graphics and photography programs delivered across Western Australia public schools, showcasing aspiring young artists enrolled in Years 7 to 12.

Rain was selected as a state finalist, from almost 300 entries. Her art piece is centred around ‘fantasy maps’ and was created with pen and paint on canvas.

A huge achievement.

“We were extremely humbled by the overall experience, honoured to be one of 89 finalists from 294 entries and really grateful that BHP’s funding also supports those students who don’t necessarily wish to follow a career in the mining industry”.
