Through the support of the BHP Pilbara Education Partnership, Rise Up continues to create meaningful opportunities for young people to lead, contribute and make a positive impact in their school and wider community.

The program at Hedland Senior High School recently supported the inaugural Senior Colour Fun Run Fundraiser, an initiative inspired by senior student Ava as part of a social action project. Working alongside Rise Up and the student leadership team, Ava transformed her idea into a vibrant student-led event that brought together 58 senior students for an afternoon of colour, connection, and fun.

The event highlighted the power of student voice and leadership, providing students with the opportunity to see their ideas brought to life while making a positive contribution to their community. Together, participants raised $270 for Hope Community Services and connected with a range of local organisations, including Headspace, Pilbara Meta Maya Aboriginal Corporation, Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation, King Kira and BHP volunteers.
