The school grants program provides funding for schools across Port Hedland, Newman and Onslow to add value to STEM related initiatives to improve outcomes for students.

Providing funding to add value to STEM Related initiatives to improve outcomes for students.

Through this funding, schools are delivering a wide variety of school-based projects to enhance embedding of STEM in school curriculum, deliver real life, practical and meaningful learning for students, and enrich opportunities for students.

The BHP Pilbara Education Partnership is a joint initiative between the Department of Education and BHP; primary schools and remote schools supported by the Partnership are eligible to apply for STEM grants.

The program is designed to embed STEM more deeply into school curriculums, deliver practical and meaningful real-world learning, and broaden opportunities for students. Schools have received funding for a diverse range of projects from technology upgrades to specialist programs that help students develop vital skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
