Early Learning Programs – Supporting Families

The Early Learning Program at Port Hedland Primary School supports families in preparing children for school. Recently, more fathers are attending, helping them understand developmental milestones and support services, fostering greater family involvement in education.

The on-school site Early Learning Programs (ELPs) provide a safe, easily accessible place for families to be supported and learn about their child’s development whilst being an integral part in preparing the child for school. The ELPs are open to all carers and their children.

At Port Hedland Primary School there has recently been an increase in children attending with their fathers. This is a fantastic outcome for the children as it means that Dads are being educated about the appropriate developmental milestones for their child, services that are available to support their child and how they can best assist their child’s learning.

It is great to see whole families involved in their child’s development and preparation for school!
