In October the Partnership supported 4 Year 11 Newman Senior High School students to attend revision study sessions delivered by Academic Associates at Leeming Senior High School and Mastermind Australia at Hale School.

From these sessions, students maximised exam preparation by learning tested-and-proven methods to allow them to manage their time, study effectively, manage stress and reach their goals.

From students:

“The study skills helped me understand how I study the best and gave me ideas to try that would suit me better.  Thank you for covering the cost as I would not have been able to go and get the benefit of these courses otherwise. I would go for Year 12 study sessions in the July or October holidays next year”.

“I went to different study sessions facilitated by Mastermind Australia. The teachers were very knowledgeable and had different ways of explaining things gave me a kind of university feel to the experience. The sessions were very informative and two of the teachers were exam markers so had a lot of tips on answering exam questions. They were relaxed and approachable and ongoing help if we emailed too”.

The Partnership has also supported a series of study skills workshops for Year 10 students to develop effective study habits, time management skills, and reflective practices.
