WA Student Council Success

Rise Up Newman has been working to broaden leadership opportunities, supporting its Student Councillors through the process of applying to become a member of the WA Student Council.

This contemporary, competitive process, included submitting a formal written application, video presentation and group interview. To give the applicants real-life issues to draw from in their application, Rise Up facilitated the Student Captains and other members of the Student Council to identify and discuss key issues affecting students at school. Proudly, one of the Newman applicants, Abel Cole, was successfully selected, accepting tenure for 2023 and 2024 on the WA Student Council.
