Strengthening Students’ Sense of Belonging

To strengthen students’ sense of belonging within the community, the Rise Up program at Newman Senior High School is working with the Newman community to promote opportunities for community engagement, resulting in some students recording Community Service hours and some students demonstrating leadership abilities by volunteering at both Newman primary school swimming carnivals.

Year 7 families and new families to the school were recently introduced to Rise Up at a parent welcome night where the program coordinated a range of lawn games to encourage school staff and families to connect.
