Port Hedland Primary School Early Learning Program

Specialist teacher and mother Helena Keogh, is excelling at creating a welcoming environment in the Port Hedland Primary School Early Learning Program.

Helena is often seen calmly manoeuvring between children playing and welcoming parents with a friendly smile. Helena offers the Early Learning Program community an engaging and educational environment where parents can connect and relax, whilst learning new skills through everyday activities and play, utilising the Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a). The BHP Pilbara Education Partnership Early Years team have fostered a community partnership with Cooke Point Playgroup. The team have supported Port Hedland Primary School to secure the use of the Early Childhood facility at the Andrew McLaughlin Centre, for their twice weekly Early Learning Program on Tuesdays and Fridays. This is a perfect location next door to the school grounds, overlooking the Kindy and Pre Primary play area, enabling children and families to transition easily from the Early Learning Program to Kindy.
